How does the AI recognize my drawings?
We use GPT-4o vision technology. When you finish a sketch, the app securely and anonymously analyzes the visual elements of your drawing to provide the most accurate translation for the word you're learning.
Why should I draw instead of just typing?
It’s called the Picture Superiority Effect. Research shows that the physical act of drawing a concept forces your brain to process information more deeply than reading or typing, making the memory "stick" much longer.
Can I use Catchy Cards without an internet connection?
Yes! You can draw and study your existing cards anywhere. However, you will need a connection for the AI to process new translations and to sync your library to the cloud.
Are my drawings private?
By default, yes. Your cards are your personal study tools. They only become visible to the community if you explicitly choose to mark a set as "Public."
What languages are supported?
Currently, we support 14+ major languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and more. The AI is constantly learning, so the list is always growing.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. We are currently focused on making the best possible experience for iOS. If you'd like to be notified when we expand to Android, drop us a line at hello@catchycards.com.
What if the AI gives me a wrong translation?
AI is smart, but not perfect. If a translation feels off, you can manually edit the text on the card. Remember, the goal is your learning journey—if the AI "hallucinates," use it as a moment to double-check the word, which actually helps your memory even more!
Can I import photos from my camera roll?
While you can import images, we highly encourage drawing them yourself. The "magic" of Catchy Cards happens through the motor skills of your hand and the creative choices you make while sketching.
How do I sync my cards across my iPhone and iPad?
Simply log in with the same Google or Email account on both devices. Your library is automatically synced via Firebase so your cards are always with you.
I’m a teacher. Can I use this for my class?
Absolutely! You can create "Public" sets for your students to download and study. We love seeing Catchy Cards used in the classroom.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete individual cards and sets directly in the app. For a full account wipe, please email us at hello@catchycards.com and we will remove your profile from our database.
